Skoda SUV range: current models
From tiny to titanic, Skoda’s SUVs come in a wide range of sizes.
Skoda Kamiq
The Kamiq is the smallest and cheapest of Skoda’s SUV line-up, but don’t go thinking that makes it a poor relation. This is a very grown-up feeling car, with impressive quality, easy-to-use functions and a surprisingly generous amount of interior space: four adults will be comfy, and five will squeeze in at a push. The boot is a good size, too, if not as big as those in some competitors. Punchy turbocharged engines offer an impressive blend of performance and economy, while a comfortable ride makes the Kamiq feel sophisticated on the road.
Skoda Karoq
The midsize Karoq is next up in Skoda’s SUV range, and it competes with hugely popular cars such as the Nissan Qashqai and SEAT Ateca. If you value practicality and versatility above all else, then the Karoq is one of the best choices in the class. There’s lots of interior space and a large boot, and if you go for SE L trim or above, you get ‘Varioflex’ rear seats, which can be slid, reclind and folded individually, and removed altogether if necessary. A comfortable ride and impressive quality complete the package.
Skoda Kodiaq
All trim levels except the entry-level SE Drive come with seven seats as standard, and that’s very much the central appeal of the Skoda Kodiaq. There’s room for an adult in all of them, but seats six and seven will be most comfortable for kids on longer journeys, while the amount of boot space you get ranges from compact to capacious, depending on how many seats are in place. Prices are reasonable, quality is impressive and standard equipment is plentiful, while the driving experience strikes a good balance between comfort and sharpness. Thoroughly recommendable.
Skoda Enyaq
Skoda’s first all-electric model, but the Enyaq has much more going for it than just that. Not only is this a fantastic electric car - with punchy performance, excellent refinement and a seriously impressive range - it’s a fantastic car, period. Practicality is key to its appeal, with a huge cabin and a colossal boot, while the lustrous interior finish and plush ride give the car a genuinely high-class feel. Sure, the infotainment could be better and some optional equipment items should be standard, but otherwise, there’s very little to complain about.
Skoda Enyaq Coupe
Given the name, it’ll come as no surprise that you can cut-and-paste most of what we’ve said just above, and apply it here, too. However, there are a few key differences between the regular Enyaq and its Coupe sibling, some good, some not so good. On the plus side, the Enyaq Coupe's swoopier roofline gives it sharper looks, and also makes the car more aerodynamic to give it a slightly better driving range. Less positively, practicality takes a bit of a hit and prices are generally higher.
