In entry-level Icon spec, the all-new Yaris comes with a 7in touchscreen infotainment display with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, Bluetooth, DAB radio and access to assorted online services. Plus, adaptive cruise control, aircon, front electric windows, reversing camera, automatic lights and wipers, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors and 16in wheels all come as standard.

In Design guise, the Yaris gains an 8in infotainment display, LED headlights, rear electric windows, privacy glass and 16in wheels with a machined finish on top of the equipment that comes as standard on Icon model.

The Excel adds some useful driver assistance aids in front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and auto-folding door mirrors. It also gains a bit of visual distinction with a satin chrome grille surround, but reverts to a non-JBL, six-speaker stereo.

GR Sport captures the spirit of the high-performance GR Yaris hatchback. Racy touches include 18-inch machine-faced alloy wheels, model-specific suspension tuning and front sports seats.

The Premiere Edition is the most expensive version of the Yaris, because it essentially combines the high-specification trim of the Excel model with the more powerful hybrid engine found in the GR Sport. Otherwise, the only major difference in kit is the JBL sound system that's included as standard.
