This is the updated Porsche Cayenne. It’s been given a thorough going over for 2023, getting refreshed styling and new engines.
This alternative to the BMW X5 and Mercedes GLE also gets an overhauled interior, and it starts from £70,400.
New Porsche Cayenne price and specs
The new Porsche Cayenne is available to order now, with prices starting from £70,400 for the basic V6 version. This gets you 353hp, 0-60mph in 5.7 seconds and a top speed of 154 mph. All Cayennes also get 20-inch alloy wheels , electric heated seats, Matrix LED headlights and a reversing camera.
An extra £9,400 gets you the Cayenne E-Hybrid, with that car starting from £79,800. It uses the same V6 engine as the standard model, only now it has an electric motor to boost the power to 470hp and lowering the 0-60mph time to 4.6 seconds. Being a plug-in hybrid, it can also do up to 56 miles on electric power alone.
Fancy a V8 engine under the bonnet of your posh SUV? The Cayenne S has you covered. It has a 4.0-litre eight-cylinder engine with 474hp, enough to launch you from 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds. The S also gets slightly more aggressive styling to reflect what’s under the bonnet, and all this will set you back £84,400.
Next up in the range is the S E-Hybrid, which still uses a V6 engine like the standard plug-in model, however it now has a combined 519hp and will do 0-60mph in 4.4 seconds. This added performance doesn’t dent the all-electric range either, with the S E-Hybrid still managing up to 56 miles. It will make a larger dent in your wallet though, with this model costing £87,100.
Finally, sitting at the top of the range is the Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid. It sees a pretty hefty price jump over the other models, setting you back £130,200, however what you’re getting is the most powerful Cayenne ever made…
New Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid
Under the bonnet is a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine paired with an electric motor, and they produce a combined 739hp and 950Nm of torque. That’s almost 60hp more than the outgoing Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid.
Despite this increase in power, the 0-60mph time is only fractionally quicker. The new Turbo E-Hybrid will complete the sprint in 3.7 seconds, compared to 3.8 seconds in the outgoing Turbo S E-Hybrid. Being a plug-in hybrid, you can drive this model for up to 45 miles on electric power alone.
You can get the new Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid Coupe with something called the GT Package. This brings some of the suspension upgrades from the Cayenne Turbo GT, a performance model which is no longer available in the UK.
You you some GT-specific bearings up front, and it sits 10mm lower to the ground than the standard car. You also get carbon-ceramic brakes with the GT Package, as well as the option of 22-inch GT wheels.
New Porsche Cayenne price and specs
The new Porsche Cayenne is available to order in Europe now, with deliveries starting in July 2023. Expect to see it hit UK shores a bit later on.
Prices start from £67,400 for an entry-level model. Standard equipment includes 20-inch alloy wheels, adaptive suspension, a reversing camera and wireless phone charging.
If you’re after the more powerful Cayenne S, you’ll have to part with £80,800. The more eco-friendly plug-in hybrid version costs £76,800. The Turbo E-Hybrid costs a hefty £130,200.
New Porsche Cayenne design
Aesthetically, the new Porsche Cayenne looks pretty similar to the outgoing model. This is to be expected with a facelift, however there are plenty of subtle changes to keep it looking fresh.
Up front you have new wings and a new bonnet. The headlights are also updated, and you get Matrix LED units as standard. The bumper is now more aggressive-looking, with larger air intakes which are more square than before.
The side profile remains pretty similar to the outgoing car. As before, you can either have your Cayenne as an SUV, or as a more sporty-looking Coupe model with a sloping roofline. Alloy wheels start at 20 inches, however 21- and 22-inch alloys are available.
Around the back are some new 3D-effect taillights, as well as a redesigned lower bumper. You get quad tail pipes as standard, and the Coupe model has a subtle ducktail spoiler on the tailgate.
New Porsche Cayenne interior and infotainment
The new Porsche Cayenne has been given a complete interior makeover. You get a new dashboard design, as well as new technology.
Let’s start at the driver’s seat. The new Cayenne gets the same steering wheel as the Porsche 911 sports car, and behind it is an all-new curved 12.3-inch digital driver’s display. It looks pretty similar to the one found in the Porsche Taycan, and it does away with the analogue rev counter in the middle.
The gear selector has also been moved to the dashboard, just like in the Taycan. This has freed up space in the centre console for some additional storage, including a wireless charging pad for your phone, as well as a new set of climate controls with silver switches.
Speaking of climate control, the new Cayenne has a clever air quality system. It can use navigation data to tell when you’re approaching a tunnel and switch the air conditioning to recirculate, and there is a dust sensor to help keep allergens out.
The infotainment screen is the same 12.3-inches as before, only now it includes integration for apps like Spotify and Apple Music. Also new for this Cayenne is the optional 10.9-inch passenger display. It allows your passenger to do things like set the sat nav, as well as stream videos. To prevent distractions while driving, it has a special film covering it so it can’t be seen from the driver’s seat.
New Porsche Cayenne chassis and suspension
As standard, the new Porsche Cayenne gets steel springs and adaptive dampers. The new shock absorbers are meant to provide more comfort, as well as better handling compared to the outgoing model.

You also have the option of adaptive air suspension. This will further improve comfort, as well as reduce body lean in the corners. The air suspension can also be set up for off-road driving, if you’re in the mood to get the tires dirty.
New Porsche Cayenne engines and performance
As standard, the entry-level Porsche Cayenne gets a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engine with 353hp and 500Nm of torque. That’s 13hp and 50Nm more than the outgoing model.
If you need a bit more power, then you’ll want the Cayenne S. This does away with the V6 engine you got in the old Cayenne S in favour of a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. This puts out 474hp and 600Nm of torque, 34hp and 50Nm more than before, and it’ll do 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds. That’s exactly the same as the BMW X7 M60i.
New Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid
Those looking to save on their fuel bills will be tempted by the new Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid, and it’s been improved over the outgoing model.
It uses the same 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 as the entry-level model, only now it has an electric motor to provide a combined 470hp. This new E-Hybrid also has a larger battery pack than before. It can now do 56 miles on electric power alone, more than double the range of the previous car.
