This is the updated Renault Clio. It gets some pretty significant styling changes over the outgoing car, and you can now have it in sporty Esprit Alpine trim.
This alternative to the Peugeot 208 and Volkswagen Polo will only be offered as a hybrid, with the 1.0-litre petrol now not being sold in the UK.
How much does the new Renault Clio cost?
The new Renault Clio is available to order now with prices starting from £21,295. There are three trim levels available from launch: Evolution, Techno and sporty Esprit Alpine.
New Renault Clio Evolution
Entry-level Evolution models start from £21,295, and for this you get a fair bit of standard kit. You get 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, electric folding mirrors, keyless entry and start, a 7.0-inch digital driver’s display and a 7.0-inch touchscreen.
New Renault Clio Techno
Mid-range techno models get larger 17-inch alloys, a reversing camera, front and rear parking sensors, wireless phone charging and interior ambient lighting. This model will set you back £22,695.
New Renault Clio Esprit Alpine
Range-topping Esprit Alpine adds a sporty-looking bodykit, unique 17-inch alloy wheels, sports seats with blue stitching, heated seats and steering wheel and adaptive cruise control. You also get an upgraded infotainment system with a 9.3-inch touchscreen and a 10.0-inch digital driver’s display. This model costs £24,095.
New Renault Clio design
This is just a facelift for the Renault Clio, however it’s still been given a pretty comprehensive makeover, with the front end getting the most attention.
It has a much wider grille with a sporty-looking chequered pattern, and the headlights are reshaped as well with LED daytime running lights flowing down into the lower bumper.
You can now get the Clio in Esprit Alpine trim, which gets you some sporty upgrades such as a silver airfoil in the lower bumper. You have a selection of 17-inch alloy wheels to choose from as well.
Styling changes are slightly more subtle at the rear, with some tweaked tail lights being the main highlight. The new Clio also features Renault’s new, retro-looking logo.
New Renault Clio interior and infotainment
The cabin of the new Renault Clio looks pretty similar to the outgoing car, however this isn’t a bad thing as this has always been a good-looking and well-made interior.
Entry and mid-spec cars get a 7.0-inch touchscreen as standard, with range-topping cars getting a 9.3-inch system.. A 7.0-inch digital driver’s display is standard as well. This can be upgraded to a 10-inch screen on higher-spec models.
Go for the Esprit Alpine trim and you get some posh-looking sports seats, red, white and blue stitching and aluminium pedals.
New Renault Clio engines
The engine lineup has been simplified for the new Renault Clio, you now just have one option.

That option is the 1.5-litre E-Tech hybrid. It can waft around at low speeds using electric power alone, and it never needs to be plugged in. Renault claims that this system can cut fuel consumption in town by up to 40% over a conventional petrol model.
