The best new Porsche models coming by 2025: all you need to know
December 08, 2023 by Jamie Edkins
Car changing is a big deal
2022 was a busy year for Porsche with the new Cayman GT4 RS and the 911 GT3 RS both making their debut. The Stuttgart sports car manufacturer isn’t slowing down any time soon though, here’s what to expect over the next few years.
New Porsche models coming in 2023
New Porsche 911 ST
This is the new Porsche 911 ST, and it’s the lightest 911 you can buy right now. Under the skin, this car is based on the 911 GT3, however it uses the engine from the track-focussed GT3 RS.
That means it has the same 525hp as that car, however the ST uses a snappy six-speed manual gearbox, something you can’t get on the GT3 RS. The suspension and chassis has also been tuned to make it as fun as possible on the public road rather than on a track.
You’ll have to be quick if you want a 911 ST for your collection, because just 1,963 will be made. You’ll have to have deep pockets as well, because it costs £231,600.
New Porsche Panamera
This is the all-new Porsche Panamera. In true Porsche fashion, the design has only been mildly tweaked for 2024, with a new bumper and some tweaked lights modernising things nicely.
The interior design is very similar to the recently-revealed Cayenne, with an optional passenger screen and new infotainment tech on offer. It should also be more comfortable than before thanks to an overhauled suspension setup.
There are no huge changes under the bonnet. You still have the option of a plug-in hybrid Turbo model, and it uses a modified version on Porsche’s 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8.
New Porsche Cayenne
The Porsche Cayenne has been given a comprehensive update for 2023, with new styling, engines and interior options making an appearance. Design wide, you still have the option of SUV and coupe body styles, and you get tweaked bumpers and lights.
Step inside and you’ll notice the new digital driver’s display, a well as a new dashboard layout. You also now have the option of a 10.9-inch display in front of the passenger to keep them entertained on long journeys.
Engine wise, you have the option of a 3.0-litre V6 or a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. The Cayenne E-Hybrid has also been updated with a larger battery pack, meaning it can now do 56 miles on electric power alone. That’s more than double the range of the outgoing car.
New Porsche 911 facelift
The ever-popular Porsche 911 is getting a mid-life facelift in 2023, and a hybrid model is also coming.
Prototypes of this new Turbo S hybrid have been spotted testing on the Nurburgring. It’s likely to get the same 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six as the current car, however it may add the 136hp electric motor from other hybrid Porsche models to boost the power up to 800hp.
It looks as though the new 911 will get minimal styling tweaks, including a new bumper with larger air intakes and revised headlights.
New Porsche Taycan facelift
Porsches electric saloon will be getting a facelift soon, although the styling is expected to stay more or less the same. Prototypes have been spotted testing with tweaked headlights and a new bumper.
A new high-performance version of the Taycan has also been spotted testing, and it might get more than 1,000hp. You can see the huge wing on the back, as well as a more aggressive-looking body kit.
Expect to see this updated Taycan at the end of the year, with sales starting at the beginning of 2024.
New Porsche 718 Spyder RS
Porsche is waving goodbye to the petrol-powered 718 Boxster and Spyder, with an all-electric replacement coming in 2025. The final swan song for this model is the Spyder RS, and it has the same engine as the Porsche Cayman GT4 RS.
This means it has a 4.0-litre naturally-aspirated flat-six engine with 500hp and 450Nm of torque. It’ll do 0-60mph in 3.4 seconds, the same as the GT4 RS, and it has a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
The Spyder RS is lowered by 30mm over the standard 718 Spyder, and it’s 40kg lighter than that car as well. This is thanks to details like the carbon fibre bonnet and light-weight roof arrangement, and you also get lightened magnesium wheels with the optional Weissach pack.
New Porsche models coming in 2024
New electric Porsche Macan
The next-generation Porsche Macan will be available as an EV for the first time, making it the second electric car in the company’s lineup. It’ll share parts with the forthcoming Audi A6 e-tron, so it will have a 100kWh battery and 400 miles of range could be possible.
The new Macan EV should also come with dual motors and all-wheel-drive, and it could have up to 476hp.
Porsche has confirmed that this new EV will go on sale in 2024 alongside the petrol and plug-in hybrid models, so expect an official reveal at the beginning of next year.
New Porsche models coming in 2025
New electric Porsche Cayman and Boxster
Can an electric sports car be fun to drive? Well Porsche seems to think so because the next Cayman and Boxster will be EVs.
They may use the 435hp electric motor from the front axle of the Porsche Mission R race car. The battery pack may also be a taller chest-like unit mounted in the middle of the car to keep the weight distribution similar to the current car.
Porsche has confirmed that this electric Cayman and Boxster will arrive in 2025, however you can expect to see concept versions revealed a year or so before this.
New electric Porsche Cayenne
During a recent press conference, Porsche has confirmed that an all-electric Porsche Cayenne is coming in 2025. It will use the same parts as the smaller Porsche Macan EV, as well as the Audi A6 e-tron.
This means a 100kWh battery is likely. This gives the Audi A6 e-tron 435 miles of range, however this bigger and heavier SUV may get close to 400 miles on a charge. Dual-motors and all-wheel-drive are to be expected, and this electric Cayenne may have up to 476hp.
The new electric Porsche Cayenne is going to be revealed after the all-electric Boxster in 2025, possibly at the same time as a facelift for the premium SUV.

New Porsche Mission X
The new Porsche Mission X concept was revealed earlier this year, and this is the spiritual successor to the Porsche 918 Spyder. It’s an all-electric hypercar, and it could go on sale in 2027.
This car has been designed to take down the Mercedes-AMG One around the Nurburgring, and it’ll have a power-to-weight ratio of 1hp per kg. This means it may end up having around 1,500hp.
The mission X is a low-slung car with an air of Le Mans about it. It’s been designed with downforce in mind, with plenty of clever vents to direct air over the car.
