Car changing is a big deal
The Peugeot 2008 has been given a mid-life facelift to keep it looking and feeling fresh. Read on for all the details.
- New Peugeot 2008 revealed
- Updated exterior styling
- New interior technology
- Hybrid version on the way
- Improved range and power for E-2008
- On sale in the summer
This is the facelifted Peugeot 2008. It gets tweaked styling, new interior technology and updated engines.
The electric Peugeot E-2008 has also been given a larger battery with more range to keep up with alternatives like the Kia E-Niro and Vauxhall Mokka Electric.
New Peugeot 2008 design
The Peugeot 2008 has always been a stylish small SUV, and this facelift only builds on this.
Up front you have a new grille which is inspired by the larger Peugeot 408, as well as some updated “lion’s claw” daytime running lights.
The side profile remains pretty much the same as before. There are some new alloy wheel designs though, with sizes ranging from 16 to 18-inches.
The rear end sees some new LED tail lights, and the badge has been dispensed with in favour of the word Peugeot spelled out across the tailgate.
New Peugeot 2008 interior and infotainment
Interior-wise the changes are less dramatic with the new Peugeot 2008. You still get the small steering wheel from all other Peugeot models, and there is some new technology on board as well.
You now get a 10.0-inch digital driver’s display and a 10.0-inch infotainment screen with new and improved voice commands. GT models also get some swanky Alcantara upholstery on the seats.
New Peugeot 2008 engines
The new Peugeot 2008 will be available with the same 1.2-litre petrol engine as the current car. You can either have 100hp or 130hp, and it’s available with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic in the higher-powered model.

From 2024 a new hybrid version will also join the lineup. It’ll use a tweaked version of the 1.2-litre petrol engine, mated with a small electric motor to make 136hp. It’ll be able to drive around at slow speeds in electric-only mode, and it should be better on fuel as well.
New Peugeot E-2008 motors and batteries
The all-electric Peugeot E-2008 has been given a more comprehensive update under the skin with a new battery and motor combo.
You now get a 54kWh battery, up from the 5kWh unit in the outgoing car, with 252 miles of range. That’s a 48-mile improvement over the old model, however it’s over 30 miles less than the Kia Niro EV.
As for the motor, it has 20hp more than before with a total output of 156hp.
When will the new Peugeot 2008 go on sale?
Orders for the new Peugeot 2008 will open in the Summer, with deliveries expected by the end of the year.
Pricing hasn’t been announced yet, however this new car is likely to fetch a premium over the current car. The petrol-powered version may start at around £25,000, while the electric E-2008 could wear a £36,000 price tag.
