- All-new Dacia Bigster on sale in 2025
- Concept previews new large SUV
- Sits above the Duster
- Bold new design
- A range of hybrid/electric powertrains expected
This is the Dacia Bigster concept. It was first revealed back in 2021, and Dacia has just confirmed that it’ll go on sale in 2025, one year after the all-new Dacia Duster is revealed.
This rugged-looking SUV will be an alternative to cars such as the Volkswagen Tiguan and Kia Sportage, and it’s expected to be available with a range of petrol and hybrid engines.
New Dacia Bigster design
The new Dacia Bigster was revealed as a concept a couple of years ago, and it’s a pretty bold design to come from Renault’s budget brand. This mid-sized crossover has a tough, yet modern look to it thanks to the chunky black cladding and wide wheel arches.
The Y-shaped headlights and LED strips across the bonnet dominate the front end, with the updated Dacia logo also being illuminated. The large black plastic bumper also has the Dacia branding stamped into it, and there’s even a power bulge in the bonnet.
The side of the car looks equally purposeful. There’s a protective plastic side skirt running along the bottom of the doors, as well as a matching set of wheel arch extensions. The rear door handles are neatly integrated into the C-pillar to keep things looking clean.
The rear of the new Dacia Bigster looks just as imposing as any other angle. Key details include a boot lid spoiler, a sharp Dacia logo, Y-shaped brake lights and a large protective rear bumper.
New Dacia Bigster engines and performance
There’s no word yet on what will be powering the new Dacia Bigster, however it’s likely to share parts with the forthcoming Renault Austral. This would suggest a range of petrol mild hybrid units, as well as a full hybrid.
There’s no word on whether the new Bigster will be offered with front- or four-wheel drive.
New Dacia Bigster interior
There have been no interior images released of the Dacia Bigster’s interior at present but Dacias are known for having simplistic but functional cabins.
It’s likely this new car will get a bolder cabin to match its chunky exterior, but the brand will stay true to its value for money ethos, so don’t expect the same type of luxury that you would get from a more premium brand.
New Dacia Bigster: when will it go on sale?
The new Dacia Bigster is slated to go on sale in 2025, around a year after the release of the next-generation Dacia Duster.
It’ll also sit above the duster in the range, so expect it to cost a bit more. A starting price of around £25,000 is to be expected.
