Smart electric cars Discover the electric Smart range and compare new and leasing deals
The Smart brand is probably still best known for the original Smart car, which was powered by petrol, but did you know that for the past few years, the company has only been offering electric cars? That’s right, a Smart EV has been your only choice of Smart car for quite a while, with both the ForTwo and ForFour models converted to EQ electric power only. Now, however, both those models have been replaced, so in this guide, we’ll take you through what Smart’s electric-car product offering now looks like.
Smart car electric range: current models
The EQ ForTwo and EQ ForFour electric cars have now both been replaced by a single model, the all-new - and somewhat bizarrely named - #1 (pronounced ‘Hashtag 1’). If you like the look of it, why not let Carwow help you find the perfect example for you.
Smart #1
Smart is transitioning away from making dinky city cars, in favour of becoming known as an all-electric brand, and as such, the Smart #1 is the firm’s biggest ever car. It’s a midsize SUV that’s about the same size as a Seat Ateca. Prices start at around £36,000, and for that you get a range of 260 miles and a 0-62mph time of 6.7 seconds. There is, however, a sporty Brabus model, which has a frankly bonkers 428hp and does 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds.
