Colour guide
Solid - Alpine white
Free
The default choice for many buyers, Alpine white is popular thanks to it being a no-cost option and it looks just fine on the sporty little 1 Series. It’s a solid colour, so doesn’t sparkle like a metallic finish in the sun, but it also won’t show up minor scratches as easily.
Solid - Jet black
Free
The only other no-cost colour option is the equally popular Jet black. Dirt and road grime is less obvious on this darker shade than Alpine white, but swirl marks from a sub-par wash will be visible from across the car park.

Individual metallic paint - Storm Bay
£595
Storm bay is the only individual metallic option for the 1 Series, and it is definitely worth a look. The light grey hue accentuates the lines of the car, and even though it has a metallic finish, it can look like a fancier matte paint from certain angles.
Metallic - Black sapphire
£595
The perfect choice for those who like their black paintwork with a bit of added sparkle. Black sapphire is also easy to keep clean and should be as popular on the used car market as it is with new buyers.
Metallic - Melbourne red
£595
Melbourne is a darker shade of red which gives the 1 Series a sporty yet sophisticated look. It works especially well on the higher trims which add larger wheels and more pronounced front spoilers. It needs a good wash and polish to look its best, though.
Metallic - Mineral white
£595
Mineral white adds a bit of metallic sparkle to an otherwise bland colour option. It actually looks rather good on the 1 Series, but seeing as you have to pay in to have it, we would suggest you look at a few other paid-for colours as well before committing.
Metallic - Misano blue
£595
A bright and vibrant colour, Misano blue is definitely more suited to the sportier 1 Series trims. Blue is popular on the used car market, although some may prefer a slightly less intense shade than this.
Metallic - Phytonic blue
£595
Phytonic is like the grown-up more mature version of Misano blue. Both are metallics, but the darker Phytonic colour feels the more upmarket of the two. It shouldn’t show up dirt too easily, but make sure you do a good job when you do wash it as swirl marks can be quite visible.
Metallic - Skyscraper grey
£595
Grey is a firm favourite among new and used car buyers, and Skyscraper grey is sure to be a popular choice for 1 Series customers. It has a nice sheen thanks to the metallic finish and contrasts well with the black exterior trim.
Metallic - Snapper rocks blue
£595
Snapper rocks blue is a snappy name for a snazzy colour. It is definitely on the sportier side of the blue scale and looks good on any trim. It might not be as popular for used car buyers as the more subdued Phytonic blue, but it’s sure to get you noticed out on the roads.
Metallic - Sunset orange
£595
This is one of the more eye-catching colour options for the 1 Series, and it can look rather sharp when paired with a larger set of wheels. It really glistens in the sun, but you may find that it will put off more conservative buyers on the second-hand market.
