Colour guide
Multi coat - Pearl white
Free
Most of the paint finishes available to Tesla Model Y buyers cost extra. The one exception is the Pearl white multi-coat. It’s an attractive finish, much better than the drab free paint finishes you often see. White really suits the car’s clean, high-tech image.
Metallic - Deep blue
£1,100
You see quite a few Teslas in Deep blue metallic. We’re not surprised. To our eyes it’s an attractive shade of blue, and the metallic finish really catches the light on a sunny day. The price is quite steep compared with the free-of-charge white paint, though.

Metallic - Midnight silver
£1,100
The clue is in the name – Midnight silver is darker than most silver paints, in fact it’s almost more grey than silver. That’s no bad thing when grey is the most popular colour for new cars. Midnight silver looks understated and classy on the Tesla Model Y.
Solid - Black
£1,100
High-performance cars always look good in black, and the Tesla Model Y is no exception. Mind you, it is an expensive option considering it’s a solid black rather than metallic. It will show the dirt if you don’t keep the car clean.
Additional multi coat - Red
£2,100
The multi-coat Red has a real depth and complexity of colour that’s tough to do justice to on a computer screen. Red really brings out the Model Y’s sporty side, although the multi-coat finish is expensive. But if red is your favourite colour and you take pride in the appearance of your car, this is a high-quality and attractive paint finish.
